APPOINTED PERSON FOR FIRST AID
TRAINING SPECIFICATIONS

BACKGROUND

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, require an employer to provide or ensure that there are adequate and appropriate equipment and facilities to render first aid to employees who become ill or who are injured at work and to provide sufficient and suitable persons for rendering first aid.

This course is designed to meet the needs of Organisations in which the size of the work force and the degree of risk to the health and safety of employees is such that only limited first aid skills and facilities are required.

AIMS

To enable the Appointed Person to render rudimentary first aid in the event of an accident at work.

To maintain adequate first aid facilities in accordance with current health and safety legislation.

OBJECTIVES

To enable the course member to:

Render first aid while awaiting medical assistance, using the contents of a first aid box, stocked in accordance with current legislation.

2.

Contact the emergency services

3.

Maintain a first aid box in accordance with current legislation.

COURSE DURATION

4.5 hours

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Employees who have been designated by their employer as the Appointed Person with responsibility for the administration of first aid at their place of work.

Managers who have overall responsibility for the administration of first aid at their place of work.

COURSE FEES

IN COMPANY

£450, exclusive of value added tax, but inclusive of hand outs and travel up to 100 miles for a maximum of 12 candidates.
